This surgery is of special interest to Dr. von Maur. He
performs this surgery using an open or closed technique
and will frequently combine cartilage modification with
cartilage grafting and internal nasal reconstruction for
breathing improvement. Dr. von Maur believes that facial
balance is an intergral and extremely important element
in creating facial beauty. The nose is the aesthetic (albeit
subconscious) center of the face and small alterations
or refinements in the nose will have a remarkable effect
on improving the over-all facial appearance.
Blepharoplasty (Eyelid Beautification)
Completes the over-all formula for facial balance and
harmony.
Other – Ancillary Procedures
Perioral Rejuvenation – Lip enhancement is very
popular today. Dr. von Maur uses the latest soft tissue
fillers including Restylane, Hylaform, collagen, and Fat
Transfers. (These procedures are done in-office with minimal
discomfort using anesthesia). Dermabrasion – very
effective method of smoothen lip lines which may not resond
avorably to less invasive procedures.
Medical Skin Rejuvenation
Dr. von Maur employs two full-time, fully trained medical
aestheticians to provide you with the most up to date
and advanced medical skin care treatments and products.
Dr. von Maur feels that skin care is equally as important
as surgery, and must work in harmony with invasive procedures.
To that end, he has dedicated his practice to the latest
and most advanced skin improvement rejuvenation modalities
and offers you a choice of different “light”
therapies ranging from the non-ablative PhotoFacial (Intense
Pulse Light), N’Lite, HGM, and CO2 Laser.
• Photofacial (IPL) – removes age spots, rosacea,
broken capillaries, also improves acne and scars. The
advantage is no down time or peeling. This popular treatment
is favored by people who wish to remove signs of sun and
weather damage, such as age spots and broken capillaries
allowing them to still maintain their normal schedule.
The PhotoFacial works equally well on the neck, hands,
chest (decolletage) and arms. When combined with additional
creams, it can reverse pre-cancerous skin lesions and
possibly eliminate the need for surgery. It is also helpful
for active acne as well as acne scars.
• N-LITE Laser – is a non-ablative laser,
which is effective in improving scars after surgery or
trauma as well as softening fine lines around the eyes.
It remodels collagen and is therefore helpful to reduce
acne scarring especially when combined with PhotoFacial
• HGM Laser – This laser is crypton-bsed laser,
which is very effective to remove pigmented moles and
larger capillaries of the face. When combined with IPL,
it is very very effectively without surgery using the
HGM laser.
• CO2 Laser and Erbium Laser – these two lasers
work on the surface of your skin to create a variable
depth superficial peel that is effective especially with
deeper lines of the face. They may be used in conjunction
with the other modalities when indicated.
• Micro-Dermabrasion – this procedure is an
adjunct to all other medical skin rejuvenation procedures.
When it is combined with PhotoFacial, the rejuvenation
process can be accelerated and more through.
Body Contouring Surgery
Many patients, despite diet and exercise, are unable to
achieve the body or silhouette they dream of. While other
patients who have lost weight find themselves dealing
with “problem areas” where there is excess,
redundant skin. Dr. von Maur specializes in body contouring
from head to toe. He has a vast experience with abdominoplasty
(tummy tuck) thigh-buttock lift, lower body lift, inner
thigh lift, and arm lift ( brachioplasy). These are very
rewarding procedures with patients who have struggled
most of their adult life with these problems and have
finally found a solution. By combining external ultrasound
and power-assisted liposculpture and using three-dimensional
analysis, significant improvement of your figure and shape
is the result. External ultrasonic power-assisted lipo-sculpture
which includes three-dimensional and circumferential lipo-sculpture;
abdominoplasty (tummy tuck), full body lift (includes
buttock, thighs, and abdomen), thigh lift, thigh-buttock
lift, buttock enhancement with at transfer or implants,
and brachioplsty (arm lift).
Breast Enhancement
• Breast Augmentation – is one of
the most popular plastic surgeries today performed in
Southern California. Dr. von Maur utilizes saline or silicone,
depending on the patients’s breast configuration.
This can be determined at the time of initial evaluation.
The scars from breast augmentation are generally peri-areolar,
but someties trans-axillary, and sub-mannary. Dr. von
Maur likes to use a pain pump catheter for breast augmentation
patients because it can be left in place for up to three
days.
• Breast lift (Mastopexy) – is the best way
to correct post-partum breasts where the skin is stretched
and the breasts droop. There are varieties of mastopexy
methods used that are state of the art and very effective.
The breast lift can be done with or without a breast implant
depending on the patient’s desires.
• Breast Reduction – helps to improve body
proportion, reduce neck, back and shoulder pain, improve
well-being, and allows a person to engage in activities
that would normally be a challenge. This operation is
done under general anesthesia and is sometimes partially
covered by insurance.
