Sagging Breasts Can Be Restored To Pleasing, Normal Shape

Before & After: Patient 1

Q. I have been very pleased with the size of my breasts but now as I'm turning 40 they're beginning to really sag. What can be done, how long is the operation and what's the cost?

A. What you are asking about is called a Mastopexy, a procedure for uplifting the breasts. The breast tissue is maintained but the nipple is relocated upward and the skin envelope of the breast is reduced. The nipple-areolar complex remains connected to all of the breast's glandular tissue, of course. The result is an improved, conical-shaped breast. If breast enlargement is also desired, a saline-filled or silicone-filled implant can be added at the same time. The Mastopexy procedure takes about two and a half hours.
